Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need to book in advance for an activity?

Yes, booking is mandatory. To ensure the availability of our guides and proper rest for our dogs, we do not accept walk-in visitors. You can contact us by phone or email to secure your time slot.

2. How should I dress for my outing?

Plan for multi-layered winter clothing (the "onion system"). Avoid cotton and denim as they retain moisture. We recommend: warm winter boots, snow pants, an insulated coat, a toque (winter hat), a scarf, and mittens with liners. For sliding, helmets are mandatory for children under 12.

3. Can I drive my own sled?

Absolutely! After basic training provided by our mushers, adults and children aged 13 and over can drive their own team. A guide will accompany you throughout the trail to ensure your safety.

4. What is the minimum age to participate in activities?

Dog Sledding: Accessible from 1 year old (as a passenger).

Snowshoeing: Recommended from 4 years old (you may bring your own sled/toboggan for smaller children).

Sliding: All ages (children must be accompanied).

5. How are your dogs treated?

The well-being of our Siberian Huskies is our absolute priority. They receive high-quality food, rigorous veterinary monitoring, and benefit from essential rest periods. They are raised with love and are an integral part of our family.

6. What happens in case of extreme weather or lack of snow?

We monitor the weather closely. We may reschedule or cancel the activity without penalty under the following conditions (based on The Weather Network for Otter Lake, 48h prior):

- Temperature below -24°C (excluding wind chill).

- Rain or Freezing Rain (more than 1 mm).

- Unsafe trail conditions.

All clients will be contacted by email 2 days before their appointment to confirm weather conditions. It is your responsibility to check your email and voicemail.

7. Can I bring my own pet?

No. For the safety and tranquility of our sled dogs, outside pets are not allowed on the site, even if they remain in your vehicle.

8. Do you offer food services on-site?

Most of our packages include a snack and a hot beverage upon your return to the lodge. For the "24h Excursion" package, meals (fondue dinner and breakfast) are included.

9. What time should I arrive for my activity?

We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time. This allows us to confirm your attendance and begin technical instructions without delaying the group.

10. What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, fees apply based on the timing:

- 7 days or more before the appointment: No fee.

- Between 7 days and 48 hours before: 50% of the total cost will be charged.

- 48 hours or less, late arrival, or no-show: 100% of the total cost will be charged.
